The “Tri Horrors” Oriental Ballet was staged at the Nelum Pokuna on 27th July 2017 at 6.30 pm in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
The mode of oriental ballet was a most popular art form during the 60s and 70s in Sri Lanka. However, it is at present one of the dying art forms in our country. Hence, the National Dance and Oriental Advisory Board of the Cultural Ministry decided to take necessary steps for developing this valuable art form under Prof. Ariyarathne Kaluarachchi, Vice Chancellor direction and Prof. Kaluarachchi choreographed the “Try Horrors” Oriental Ballet. The cast of the ballet was nearly 250 comprised with university students, academics, dancers from state dance ensemble and cultural troupe from Sri Lanka Navy.
