A delegation of University of the Visual and Performing Arts (UVPA) comprising Professor Sarath Chandrajeewa/Vice-Chancellor, Ms. Thakshila Ranthunga/Actg. Registrar and Ms. Chani Imbulgoda/Deputy Registrar in-charge of the International Collaboration & Research were invited by the Centre for Academic & Scientific Corporation of Islamic Culture & Relation Organization (ICRO) in Iran to participate in an informative visit to art institutions in Iran and to discuss initiating academic and research collaborations. This programme was initiated and coordinated by the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sri Lanka.
The visit took place from 11th February 2018 to 17th February 2018. The UVPA delegation visited Tehran, the Capital city of Iran and Esfahan, key attraction and a Cultural and Ancient city in Iran.
UVPA delegation visited University of Arts in Tehran and entered into a MoU for academic and research collaboration with two Universities. The Hozeh Honari Institution of Arts and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Tehran University are two other key institutions expressed interest in formalizing academic and research collaborations with the University of Visual and Performing Arts.
