IRS 2022 Overview

Welcome to the International Research Symposium (IRS) 2022 of the Faculty of Music, organized by the C.de S Kulathilake Archival and Research Unit will be held on 14th and 15th December 2022 will provide an opportunity for students and the academics of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts and other Universities of Sri Lanka to present their work in a scholarly setting to the faculty and other representatives of the University.

Purpose of the Symposium

IRS 2022 aims to motivate and create a platform for students and the academics to conduct research and present their findings with expecting to uplift the research culture within the Faculty of Music.

Senior professor Raj Somadeva

Raj Kumar Somadeva is a professor of archaeology at the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka and a member of the World Archaeological Congress. He has received the Charles Wallace Research Fellowship from the Institute of Archeology at University College London in 2005.
