Mr. Saman Girakaduwa

Sman Girakaduwa received a Master of Social Sciences (MSSc.) degree from the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka in 2017. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in Library and Information Science from the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka in 2011. Currently, he is serving as a Senior Assistant Librarian (Grade II) in the Library, University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Sri Lanka. He is also working as a visiting lecturer for the HDLIS in ICT at the SLLA as well as a resource person, Consultant for library Automation and digitization programs for various government and private institutions in Sri Lanka. His current research interests are in the fields of Library Automation & Digitization (Koha & Dspace), ICT – Information Communication Technology for libraries, User Education, E-resources etc. He has worked at Sri Lanka Air Force as a librarian in 2012-2014 and University of Kelaniya as a Demonstrator in 2014. He has been working as a Senior Asst. Librarian at the UVPA since 2014 to present.
