Tagore Indo-Asia Foundation for Creative Inquiry

The University of the Visual and Performing Arts (UVPA), through its Centre for Conceptual Anthropology (CCA), proposes the establishment of the Tagore Indo-Asia Foundation for Creative Inquiry, a transdisciplinary initiative inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s educational philosophy. This foundation serves as a hub for philosophical, scientific, and artistic expressions rooted in the Indo-Asia knowledge systems.

The Tagore Indo-Asia Foundation is a visionary initiative that seeks to bridge cultures, disciplines, and generations. With India’s support, UVPA will create a lasting tribute to Rabindranath Tagore’s ideals and a dynamic space for creative and intellectual exploration in Sri Lanka.

Goals of the Foundation

  • Create a vibrant intellectual and cultural space that reflects the shared heritage of India and Sri Lanka.
  • Promote Tagorean principles of holistic education, creative freedom, and intercultural dialogue.
  • Establish a permanent foundation for research, academic training, and cultural performances in the Indo-Asia region and globally.
  • Sustain aesthetic cultural heritage applying modern technology.
