Centre for Quality Assurance
(CQA)

The Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) of the University of the Visual & Performing Arts (UVPA) is the central body responsible for coordinating and strengthening internal quality assurance activities within the university. Established in line with University Grants Commission Circular No. 09/2019, the CQA ensures that all academic programmes and institutional processes meet national standards such as the Sri Lankan Qualifications Framework and Subject Benchmark Statements. Headed by a Director, the CQA plans, facilitates, and monitors quality assurance initiatives, while working with faculty-level Quality Assurance Cells to enhance the overall student learning experience.

Staff Development Center
(SDC)

The Staff Development Centre (SDC) of the University of the Visual & Performing Arts (UVPA) is the main unit dedicated to enhancing the professional skills and capacities of all university staff, including academic, administrative, and non-academic personnel. It provides structured development programs focused on teaching, research, leadership, digital skills, and staff wellbeing, while promoting ethical practices and a positive university culture. Through various training and awareness initiatives, the SDC supports institutional performance and contributes to achieving sustainable academic excellence.

Information Technology Center
(ITC)

The Information Technology Center (ITC) of the University of the Visual & Performing Arts (UVPA), established in 2010, serves as the central hub for all technological services within the university. It supports students, faculty, and staff by managing the data center, network, servers, cloud services, and cybersecurity, while maintaining the university website and Learning Management System (LMS). The Center also facilitates virtual learning and collaboration through platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Eduroam, and oversees academic management systems, email services, and IT support, ensuring seamless, secure, and efficient technology-enabled academic and administrative operations.

Centre for Open & Distance Learning
(CODL)

The Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL) of the University of the Visual & Performing Arts (UVPA), established in 2010, provides flexible learning opportunities in visual and performing arts for external and lifelong learners. Offering diploma and certificate programs such as Dance, Drawing and Painting, and Sri Lankan Traditional Music, the CODL aims to expand access to high-quality education through innovative methods and modern technology. Governed by a management committee under the Senate and Council, it seeks to become a center of excellence in open and distance learning with both local and global impact.

University Medical Center
(UMC)

The University Medical Centers (UMC) of the University of the Visual & Performing Arts (UVPA) provide primary and preventive healthcare services to the university community, serving approximately 2,350 undergraduates and 370 staff members across three locations—Albert Crescent, Horton Place, and Kohuwala. Open on working days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the centers offer routine medical care and, when necessary, refer or transfer patients to nearby government hospitals for specialized or emergency treatment, using university vehicles or the “Suwasariya” ambulance service. Staffed by medical officers, nurses, health attendants, and supported by a Public Health Inspector, the UMC also oversees preventive health programs and evaluates all medical certificates for students and staff, ensuring the overall health, safety, and wellbeing of the university community.

Center for Gender Equity and Equality
(CGEE)

The Center for Gender Equity and Equality (CGEE) at the University of the Visual & Performing Arts (UVPA), established in 2017, is an interdisciplinary center that reports directly to the Vice Chancellor and draws members from across the university. Its mission is to promote gender equity and equality within the university community and to extend this impact to society. CGEE focuses on raising awareness of gender issues, supporting teaching and research on gender, and ensuring that policies and programs account for both the similarities and differences in men’s and women’s life experiences. By addressing rights, responsibilities, and opportunities without bias based on biological sex or gender, the center seeks to create an inclusive and equitable environment for all members of the university.

Center for International Relations
(CIR)

The Centre for International Relations (CIR) of the University of the Visual & Performing Arts (UVPA), established in March 2021, operates under the direct guidance of the Vice-Chancellor to manage all matters related to international affairs across the university. Led by a Director with support from administrative staff, CIR aims to increase international student enrollment, facilitate academic and research opportunities for visiting and adjunct scholars, and support UVPA students and staff in overseas educational and research activities. The center also fosters cultural and academic partnerships with international institutions, promotes global collaborations, and coordinates student and faculty exchange programs, enhancing the university’s international engagement and presence.

Centre for Research, Creative Works, and Knowledge Dissemination
(CRCKD)

The Centre for Research, Creative Works, and Knowledge Dissemination (CRCKD) at the University of the Visual & Performing Arts (UVPA) promotes innovative research, creative initiatives, and effective knowledge sharing within and beyond the university. The center supports academics, researchers, and creators in presenting and publishing their work, while fostering collaborations that bridge academia and the community. Through research, creative projects, and outreach programs, CRCKD aims to advance knowledge, contribute to national development, and establish UVPA as a center of excellence in visual and performing arts.
