Profile:

I am Nirosha Wijegunasekare, who is a unique individual with many skills. I am an active Performer, a Choreographer, an instructor, and a Lecturer in the field of dancing in Sri Lanka. I am a Dance Scholar with expertise in Traditional dance, Oriental ballet, Creative dance, and Bharatha Natyam. I Obtained many national awards in dance and has had extensive foreign exposure related to such aspects of dance. I functioned as the Key Dancer in State Dance Ensemble in Sri Lanka (2007-2015) and represented Sri Lanka in Asia Cultural road in Korea as the Sri Lankan traditional dancer. I have successfully conducted International Workshops in the field of Dance and is also attached to numerous international Dance forums representing Sri Lanka. I have a Dimpola in Bharatha Natyam in India and I have Qualified as a fitness trainer at Sri Lanka Foundation (SLF). I am an alumnus of the University of Visual and Performing Arts (UVPA) and I have been attached to the UVPA as a lecturer in 2019. I have completed my postgraduate studies as MA in Dance at the University of Kelaniya in the year 2019 and expecting to follow my Mphil Degree at the University of Peradeniya. My research area is Dance Choreography, fitness and nutrition, and modern dance.
