Profile:
Dr. W.A.P. Wickramasinghe is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Technology at the Faculty of Dance and Drama, University of the Visual and Performing Arts. He holds a B.Sc. in Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics, an M.Sc. in Computer Science, an M.Phil. in Computer Science, and a Ph.D. (Digital Conservation). Dr. Wickramasinghe commenced his academic career in 2006 as a Lecturer (Probationary) and has since progressed through dedication to teaching research, and academic service. He was the first department head of the Information Technology Department and currently he is the Director / LEARN Board of Directors representing the university. His scholarly contributions span a wide range of interdisciplinary areas, with numerous publications including journal articles, full papers, abstracts, and book chapters at both national and international levels. His research interests are Computer Vision, Image Processing, Machine Learning, Computational Aesthetics, Digital Conservation, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics & Multidisciplinary areas in IT and Art.
