Physical Education Unit

The Physical Education Unit of UVPA offers a diverse range of sports and recreational programmes to support the physical well-being and talents of internal students. It organizes major events such as Freshers’ Athletic Meets, Inter-Faculty sports competitions, and friendly matches, while facilitating participation in inter-university and international university games. The unit provides year-round training, coaching support, and modern sports facilities across multiple disciplines. In addition to athlete development, it also manages administrative duties, coordination, and communication related to internal and external sporting events.

Career Guidance
Unit

The Career Guidance Unit of UVPA was established in 2009 to support students in building successful professional careers in the visual and performing arts. It focuses on enhancing students’ professional knowledge, entrepreneurial abilities, and essential soft skills through targeted programmes and guidance. The unit also assists students in selecting suitable academic pathways aligned with their talents and career goals. By maintaining strong links with government, semi-government, and private sector organizations, it creates valuable career opportunities while strengthening the professional identity and employability of graduates.

University Business Linkage Cell
(UBL Cell)

The stARTup University Business Linkage (UBL) Cell of UVPA, established in 2018, aims to build a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem in the visual and performing arts sector. It supports students and staff in transforming creative ideas into viable businesses through innovation, training, research, and incubation. The unit provides services such as technology and innovation support, consultancy, research and development, and intellectual property guidance. By fostering industry partnerships and promoting entrepreneurship, the UBL Cell contributes to enhancing graduate employability and driving socio-economic development in Sri Lanka.

C. de S. Kulathilake Archival & Research Unit

The C. de S. Kulathilaka Archival & Research Unit of the Faculty of Music at UVPA, established in 1990, is dedicated to preserving the nation’s artistic and cultural heritage through audio-visual archiving. It supports academic research by providing access to a wide range of audio, video, and related resources, while also offering essential recording and archival facilities. The unit plays a key role in maintaining institutional records, promoting scholarly work, and fostering collaboration with local and international research communities, thereby contributing to both education and cultural preservation.

Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development
(AHEAD)

The Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) Programme at UVPA is a World Bank–funded initiative implemented through the Ministry of Higher Education to strengthen Sri Lanka’s higher education sector. It focuses on increasing student enrolment in priority disciplines, improving the quality of education, and promoting research, development, and innovation. The Operations Technical Secretariat (OTS) at UVPA supports the effective implementation of the programme by coordinating activities, providing technical and administrative assistance, and conducting capacity-building programmes for staff in areas such as procurement, financial management, and project operations.
