The Centre for Research, Creative Works, and Knowledge Dissemination is committed to fostering innovative research, supporting creative initiatives, and promoting the effective dissemination of knowledge. At the Centre, we aim to promote research and creative endeavors within the University of the Visual and Performing Arts (UVPA). We provide opportunities for researchers and creators, both locally and internationally, to present and publish their findings and works. Additionally, we focus on disseminating knowledge to the community.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between academia and the community through collaborative projects, cutting-edge research, and creative expression, thereby making impactful contributions to society and advancing knowledge.

Objectives

The primary objective of the CRCKD-UVPA is to nurture innovative research, support creative projects, and encourage the effective sharing of knowledge. We strive to assist academics at the university in contributing to national development through high-quality research and creative outputs, while also disseminating this knowledge to the community via local and international scientific meetings and university-community partnership programs.

Management of the Centre

The Centre is operated by a Director, who serves as a part-time officer, designated as the Director of the Centre for Research, Creative Works, and Knowledge Dissemination. The administration of the Centre is managed by the Research and Creative Works Division, with the Deputy Registrar responsible for administrative functions.

Board of Management

The Board of Management consists of the following members and works collaboratively with the Director. The term for the Director and the Board of Management is three years.

  1. Director – CRCKD – UVPA (Chair of the Board of Management)
  2. Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies
  3. Two representatives from each faculty, appointed by the Dean (must be senior lecturers)
  4. One Senate member
  5. One Council member
  6. Three external experts nominated from the three faculty boards
  7. Deputy Registrar (Research and Creative Works Division)

  1. Training Staff in Interdisciplinary and Multimedia Research

    Enhance staff research capabilities through interdisciplinary training and multimedia methodologies for innovative, boundary-transcending projects.

  2. Forming Common Research Circles and Discussion Forums

    Establish platforms to foster collaboration, exchange ideas, and cultivate a vibrant research community.

  3. Establishing an Online Interdisciplinary Research Journal

    Create a digital peer-reviewed journal to publish innovative interdisciplinary research and enhance global accessibility.

  4. Organizing a National Conference on Creative Arts

    Host a national conference to share research, showcase creative work, and inspire collaboration.

  5. Facilitating Community Empowerment through Applied Creative Arts Projects

    Empower communities by leveraging arts for cultural preservation, social change, and development.

  6. Hosting Seed Development Workshops for School Teachers and Students

    Organize workshops to nurture creative talent among school communities and inspire the next generation.

  7. Collaborating with Government and Foreign Missions

    Partner with government agencies and foreign missions to support cross-cultural initiatives and policy development.

  8. Facilitating Creative Performances and Art Exhibitions

    Showcase artistic and scholarly work through public exhibitions and performances to engage the wider community.

  9. Offering Creative Arts Workshops as Well-being Activities for Staff

    Conduct well-being-focused workshops to support staff mental health and promote a balanced work culture.
