On March 8, 2025, the University of the Visual and Performing Arts proudly celebrated International Women’s Day at the Rajagiriya Girls’ hostel of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts.
Guided by this year’s theme, “Accelerated Action,” we brought together students from the Faculty of Music, Faculty of Visual Arts, and Faculty of Dance and Drama, spanning from first-year to third-year, to engage in meaningful discussions about the challenges they face and the pathways to success.
Staying loyal to our cause of empowering women through education, today we shared our views on building a moral and cultured society, reflecting on the values symbolized by each theme color selected for this year’s celebration of women.
Purple: Justice for oneself and others, along with the dignity of women.
White: Purity, both within and beyond.
Green: Hope and resilience for a brighter future.It was a day of inspiration, solidarity, and empowerment, reinforcing our dedication to supporting the aspirations of young women in the arts.
