Conference Theme

Performing Identities

Welcome to the International Performing Arts conference (IPAC), hosted by the Faculty of Dance and Drama at the University of the Visual and Performing Arts. This conference serves as a dynamic platform for exploring the intersection of traditional performing arts and modern research methodologies. Under the theme “Performing Identities,” we aim to foster dialogue on how innovative approaches can contribute to the preservation and evolution of cultural heritage. IPAC brings together scholars, practitioners, and researchers from around the world to discuss and share insights on various aspects of performing arts. Through a series of engaging tracks, we will delve into topics such as oral traditions, cultural tourism, and the role of social practices in performing arts. Our goal is to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, ensuring that performing arts continue to thrive and contribute to cultural sustainability.

We invite you to join us in this enriching exploration of how performing arts can adapt and grow in a rapidly changing world while staying rooted in its rich traditions.

Important Dates

All presented abstracts will be published in the conference abstract proceeding book. Further, selected papers will be invited to be published in the Journal of Lalitha Kala Saara Sangrahaya as full papers.

Registration for the conference is mandatory and should be completed by the 17^th February, 2025. Please note that abstracts will only be included in the conference proceedings only if at least one of the authors registers before the deadline. Kindly be informed that on-site payment options will not be available. IPAC2025 is designed as a hybrid conference, offering both in-person and online participation. Presenters are expected to deliver a 15-minute presentation during the conference, either through a pre-recorded video (online attendees) or in person (physical attendees)
