Purpose and Objectives
The purpose of this journal is for dissemination of findings of researches; the journal focuses on the dissemination of new knowledge in all fields of music and music performance, emphasizing cross-cultural, and inter-disciplinary approaches.

Two issues per year (January and June) online publication.
The Journal of Research in Music is a peer-reviewed open-access journal published in the Faculty of Music, University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Sri Lanka, pioneering in specific issues of music research. The journal seeks to preserve the cultures by presenting outcomes of research examining how music is intertwined with value systems.
This journal accepts research, review articles, scientific findings of the scholars of the performing arts. Double blind peer reviewed process is used to review journal articles. According to the reviewer’s comments, all the authors should revise the manuscripts and timely resubmit. The editorial board of JRM reserves the rights to refuse the publication of an article. The Journal of Research in Music welcomes article submissions and does not charge any submission fee nor publication fee. All accepted articles will be available open access under the Creative Commons License CC BY-NC. Authors retain the copyright without restrictions.
